The Grand Palace is a amazing architectural construction and located in Bangkok. It is a large
complex place more than 200,000 square meters which was built in the early years of Chakkri
dynasty. It was royal residence of King Rama I – Rama V. The complex consists of four large
groups of building serving different royal functions.
Description
The area is divided to 4 major parts as follows :
The first one is the Wat Pra Keaw a royal religious temple.
The second is the royal ceremonial complex containing the Chakri Maha
Prasat Hall. Chakri Maha Prasat Hall was built by King RAMA V. It is used for
the reception of foreign ambassadors.
The third is the royal residence and guest residence, the Borom Phiman
Mansion . This is a private zone not a tourist area.
The forth is the staff and governmental offices. There are plenty of tour
guides to give visitors historical aspects of this beautiful palace.
You can take taxi, service bus and service boat (Chao Phraya River) to Grand
Palace near Sanamluang Park in Bangkok. During hot climate, please also arrange
hat or umbrella to go there.
Before you will travel to each place, please make sure about way to go there including both time schedule and open-close time.
