Singburi Province

The area of Singburi hold an important position in early Thai history since Dvaravati period down to Ayutthaya period. Formerly the province separated into 3 small provinces - In Buri, Prom Buri and Sing Buri - which were unified by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1895.

Main historic event was heroism of Khai Bang Rachan where 400 villagers battled and sacrificed their life against Burma in 1766. This combat took 4 months in Ayutthaya period.

   
 
 

Singburi province is covering area about 5,350 square kilometres and its population is about 220,130.

There are many attractive places such as In Buri National Museum, Heroes of Khai Bang Rachan Monument and Khai Bang Rachan Park.

Local Transportation

  • Car: Take road Highway no. 1 (Phaholyothin Road) passing Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Lopburi province through Singburi province. Total distance is about 179 kms. Another way, taking highway no. 1 and turn to highway no. 32 (Sai-Asia Road) passing Ayutthaya and Angthong province through Singburi province. Total distance is about 142 kilometres.
  • Bus: Both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses leave Bangkok's Northern and North-Eastern Bus Terminal (Kamphaengphet 2 Road) to Singburi province daily.
  • Train: Leaving daily from Bangkok's Hualumphong Railway Station to Singburi province.
